Background and expertise
  1. Scientific Fields of interests: electrochemistry; heterogeneous catalysis; immobilized oxidative enzymes; enzyme-modified graphite and noble metals electrodes; amperometric biosensors, biofuel cells.
    Research focused on catalytic activities and electrochemical characteristics of immobilized enzymes on mostly carbonaceous matrices; modification of electrodes by electrically active enzymes and related studies (linear and cyclic voltammetry, rotating-disk electrode technique, potential step methods etc.).
  2. Academic
    - Extensive teaching at both graduate and post-graduate level, comprising laboratory courses, seminars lectures etc. (on Physical and Colloid Chemistry, Heterogeneous catalysis, Biocatalysis and Electrochemistry – more than 400 hours per academic year; obligatory: 360 h/ac.year);
    - Supervised and co-supervised more than 10 Master students; co-supervisor of one PhD student (jointly with prof. E.Horozova);
    - Involved in an international project: Restructuring of the University chemistry education in Bulgaria: curricula and study programmes for bachelor degrees TEMPUS (1997/2000);
    - Co-authored the student textbook “Physical Chemistry in Problems and Questions” in two parts and “Applied Physical Chemistry” (both in Bulgarian) (pls, see list of publications).
  3. Other competences
    - Computer proficiency - MS Office, CorelDraw, chemical software, Internet, search-engines;
    - Good knowledge of Mathematics
