David Robert Joseph Beckham, OBE (born 2 May 1975) is an English professional footballer, who plays as a midfielder. He currently plays for and captains Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Galaxy and is also a member of the England national team. He earned his 100th cap for England against France in March 2008.

He has twice been runner-up for FIFA World Player of the Year, and in 2004 was the world's highest-paid footballer.He was Google's most searched of all sports topics in both 2003 and 2004.Such global recognition has made him an elite advertising brand and a top fashion icon.Beckham was captain of England from 15 November 2000 to 2 July 2006. He made 58 appearances as captain, and ended his tenure in that role after the 2006 FIFA World Cup finals. He continued to make contributions for the England national team in 2007 competitions. Beckham captained Manchester United for the first time on October 21st 2000 in a Premiership match against Leeds United. He came on as a substitute for regular captain Roy Keane, who was injured. Beckham went on to score a free-kick in this match, which finished 3-0.

Beckham's career began when he signed a professional contract with Manchester United, making his first-team debut in 1992 aged 17. During his time there, United won the Premier League title six times, the FA Cup twice, and the UEFA Champions League in 1999. He left Manchester United to sign for Real Madrid in 2003, where he remained for four seasons. While at Madrid, Beckham became the first British footballer to play 100 Champions League matches. In his final season, Real clinched the 2006-07 La Liga chamionship title (Beckham's only major trophy with the club) in the final game of the season on 17 June. In January 2007, it was announced that Beckham would leave Real Madrid and sign a five-year contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Beckham's new contract with the Galaxy, effective 1 July 2007, gave him the highest salary of any MLS player in history. He debuted for the team on 21 July in a friendly versus Chelsea at the Home Depot Center,and on 15 August, he had his first start with the team, scoring his first goal in the 2007 SuperLiga semi-final. His first league start then came on 18 August in front of a record crowd at Giants Stadium.
Cristiano Ronaldo, OIH, (born 5 February 1985[2] in Funchal, Madeira) is a Portuguese footballer who plays for Premier League club Manchester United and the Portuguese national team. With Manchester United, Ronaldo plays primarily as a right winger.He has also been used both in a central attacking role and as a second striker.

A winner of the 2007 English PFA Player and Young Player of the Year awards and third in the 2007 World Player of the Year award, Ronaldo is widely regarded as one of the most talented footballers of his generation. Michael James Owen[2] (born 14 December 1979, in Chester, England)[3] is an English football player currently with and captain of Newcastle United. He previously played for Liverpool (1996–2004) and Real Madrid C.F. (2004–05).

He plays as a striker and has enjoyed a hugely successful and high-profile career at both club and international level and was the Ballon d'Or winner in 2001. Owen is currently England's fourth highest scorer of all time, scoring his 39th and 40th goal on his 85th cap, and is England's leading competitive goalscorer with 26 goals. Steven George Gerrard MBE  (born 30 May 1980, Whiston, Merseyside) is an English football player. Despite being a Everton fan as a boy he is the captain of Liverpool, where he wears the number 8 shirt. He has been called an influential and versatile midfielder, and is known for his long-range shots and defence-splitting passes, he is usually employed in the "box-to-box" midfield role, although he has often been deployed as a right-sided midfielder, and occasionally as a second striker. During his career he has won the PFA Young Player of the Year, PFA Player of the Year, European Midfielder of the year, Premier League Most Valuable Player (twice), and UEFA Most Valuable Player. He has also been awarded the MBE for his outstanding contributions in both the 2005 UEFA Champions League Final and the 2006 FA Cup Final in which he greatly inspired his team's comeback. He has been nominated three times for the FIFA Player of the Year, in 2005, 2006 and 2007. On 5 February 2008, it was announced he had been voted by fans as the Nationwide England Player of the Year for 2007.



Zinedine Yazid Zidane (pronounced [ˌzineˈdin jaziːd ziˈdan ]; born 23 June 1972 in Marseille), popularly nicknamed Zizou, is a French former professional footballer of Algerian Kabyle Berber descent. He played in midfield. He was a member of the French national team that won the 1998 FIFA World Cup and Euro 2000, and was also the recipient of the Golden Ball after he captained the French side to the 2006 World Cup final, a match that saw his career end in controversy after he was sent off for headbutting Italy defender Marco Materazzi.

He played for four European clubs, and lifted the 2002 UEFA Champions League trophy with Real Madrid C.F. after scoring the match-winning goal. One of only two three-time FIFA World Player of the Year winners (Ronaldo the other, the award has only been given since 1991), he also finished in the top three an additional three occasions, and was also named European Footballer of the Year in 1998. In 2004, fans voted him atop UEFA's fiftieth-anniversary Golden Jubilee Poll, and he was included in Pelé's selection of the 125 greatest living footballers.

Ronaldo de Assís Moreira (born March 21, 1980 in Porto Alegre), commonly known as Ronaldinho, is a football player from Brazil. He became a naturalized Spanish citizen in January 2007.

Ronaldinho, meaning "little Ronaldo", is better known in Brazil by the nickname Ronaldinho Gaúcho, in order to distinguish him from Ronaldo (already called Ronaldinho in Brazil). However, upon Ronaldo's move to Europe, he began to be known simply as 'Ronaldo', thereby allowing Ronaldinho to drop Gaúcho and remain simply as 'Ronaldinho'.

Among his many achievements and accolades, Ronaldinho has been awarded the FIFA World Player of the Year award twice (2004, 2005), as well as the European Footballer of the Year award and the FIFPro World Player of the Year award twice (2005, 2006). He has downplayed suggestions that he is the best footballer in the world, telling FourFourTwo magazine, "I don't even feel I'm the best at Barça." 

Currently, he plays for FC Barcelona with a contract ending in 2010. However, on 12 April 2008 his agent revealed he had agreed terms with A.C. Milan, stated as an 8 million euro a year deal until 2012 . Barcelona are yet to deny the move or report it as an illegal approach. The move has since been put in doubt by AC Milan's chief executive Adriano Galliani, stating in an interview on 20 April 2008 with Sky Italia that although Ronaldinho and his agent had agreed personal terms, the clubs were as yet unable to agree a transfer fee
Ashley Cole (born 20 December 1980, Stepney, London) is an English footballer of Barbadian descent. Cole plays left back for Chelsea and for the England national team.
He started his career at his local club Arsenal as a teenager. He signed as a professional on 25 February 2000. He had made his debut for the first team as a striker on 30 November 1999 against Middlesbrough at the age of 18, his Premier League debut for Arsenal came on 14 May 2000 against Newcastle. Before he fully broke into the Arsenal side, he spent part of the 1999–2000 season on loan at Crystal Palace, where he played 14 league matches and scored one goal, a long-range half-volley against Blackburn Rovers. After an injury to Sylvinho, Arsenal's established Brazilian left-back, in autumn 2000, Cole came on as his replacement, and remained first-choice even after Sylvinho's recovery.

With Arsenal, he won the Premier League twice (in 2002 and 2004), and the FA Cup three times (in 2002, 2003 and 2005). Although injured for much of the 2005–06 season, he recovered in time to play in Arsenal's UEFA Champions League Final defeat to Barcelona at the end of the season. In total he made 228 first-team appearances for Arsenal, scoring 9 goals.
