Research interests: Design, Synthesis, Spectroscopic and structural elucidation of: New Hi-Tech organic materials; Biologically active systems as amino-acid amides, peptides and their derivatives with squaric acid; Synthesis of anticancer medications based on Au(III) complexes with amino acid derivatives and peptides; Isolation, spectral and structural studies of antimutagenic and antihypertensive peptides. Single crystal X-ray diffraction, linear polarized IR- and Raman spectroscopy in solid-state, UV-Vis spectroscopy.
Supervisor of five bilateral projects sponsored by Bundes Ministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) – BUL 001 96 (1996-1998), BUL 006 99 (1999-2001 г.); Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) (2002-2004 г.) and Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (two projects 1987, 1992).
